My Biography

I was born in Great Falls, Montana in 1968. I only lived there for a few years because I was adopted to a new family that moved to Billings, Montana. My mom and dad opened their own electrical business that dealt with electric motors and pumps. During the summer months, I was razed on my grandparent’s ranch north of Billings. I will always have fond memories of the days that I spent with my grandparents; they taught me a lot about work ethics and respect for other people. I went to school in Billings and I graduated from Billings Senior High in 1987. After graduation I went to nursing school for a year and became a traveling nurse. During the 1990’s, Montana was going through a recession and I could not find nursing jobs to support my self. So I decided to move to Phoenix. The nursing jobs paid less but I got more hours and I was able to support my self again. I quit nursing in 1998 and bought a Karaoke business; it has been flourishing every since. I have 6 bars that I supple equipment to.

In 1971, I was taken away from my parents because my mom had schizophrenia and my dad was an alcoholic. I was placed in many foster home because I had a lot of emotional problems and physical needs. This was due to the constant abuse that I endured from the hands of my mother. I spent three years in a cast because she dislocated my right shoulder and broke my elbow. In February of 1973, my dad was driving home drunk from a rodeo in Helena. Getting on the interstate, he did not yield to on coming traffic. As a result, this killed my mother. He got 10 years probation and he lost his all his parental rights to me.

As one door closes another door opens; in 1974, I was adopted to Edith and Mike Firman. They were just married and they wanted a big family. My mother has a heart of gold and over time I forgot about the past. I was the oldest of three children and was normally the babysitter of Nicole and Scotty. I grew up as a normal teenager and had a large extended family. My grandparents always needed help during the summer running their ranch. I have written many stories of the experiences I had on the ranch. And in the last years of my grandmother’s life, I was able to share these stories with her. My mom told me that when my grandmother read these stories. It brought tears of happiness to her. She past away last November at the age of 89, I believe that she had long and fruitful life.

The year 1987 was the beginning of my adult life. I graduated high school at Billings Senior High and then went into nursing school. I was a traveling nurse for eleven years; I worked at small hospitals and nursing homes all over Montana, because they paid me the big bucks. I got laid off from my job in 1996 because Montana was going though a recession. Moving to Arizona, I was able to find a lot of nursing jobs but the pay was awful. I got out of nursing and started a Karaoke business that has flourished in recent years.

I’m currently going back to school to get my Bachelor in history and archeology. So someday; I can teach high school. I can’t get any Social Security tell I’m seventy-eight; therefore, I want to find a job that is not as physically straining in my older years. Someone once told me if I want to be known after death, “write a book!” I enjoy history and archeology so much that I want to write books about the past.
